The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation is preparing to vote on a bill that proposes a significant increase in the maximum claims for cases heard through simplified and summary proceedings.
These changes, which affect the Civil Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, the Arbitration Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, and the Code of Administrative Procedure of the Russian Federation, are due to cumulative inflation, which has amounted to approximately 25% since the last threshold adjustment.
The bill proposes increasing the maximum claim amount for civil claims from 250,000 to 300,000 rubles, and for administrative claims (mandatory payments and penalties) from 20,000 to 100,000 rubles.
For arbitration courts, the recovery amounts from legal entities will increase from 1.2 million to 1.6 million rubles, and from 600,000 to 800,000 rubles for individual entrepreneurs.
The thresholds for challenging decisions of government agencies and officials, as well as for cases involving the collection of mandatory payments and penalties, are also raised.
Court orders in arbitration courts will be issued for amounts of up to 1 million rubles, up from the current 750,000 rubles.
